Privacy Policy
How this website handles your information — in plain language.
Last updated: June 27, 2026
FrontlineDoc ("we," "us") is an independent fundraising campaign that supports the Ebola response of Rebuild Hope for Africa (RHA) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This policy explains what information this website (frontlinedoc.org) collects, why, and your choices. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information We Collect
Information collected automatically (analytics)
We run our own privacy-respecting, first-party analytics — we do not use Google Analytics, advertising networks, or third-party trackers. When you visit, we record:
- Pages you view and the time spent on each page;
- The website or source that referred you (e.g. a search engine or social link);
- Your device type (desktop or mobile) and browser information;
- Your approximate location (country and city);
- Your IP address;
- Clicks on our "Donate" buttons (we record that a donation button was clicked, to measure interest — not who you are or any payment details).
Cookies
We set two small first-party cookies so we can count visits accurately:
- fld_vid — a random visitor identifier, stored for about one year, to tell new from returning visitors;
- fld_sid — a random session identifier, stored for about 30 minutes, to group a single visit together.
These contain no personal information and are used only for our own visitor statistics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How We Use This Information
- To understand how many people visit, where they come from, and which information is most useful;
- To measure interest in the campaign (including how many people click through to donate);
- To improve the website and our outreach.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Third-Party Services
- GoFundMe — all donations are processed on GoFundMe. When you click "Donate," you leave this site for GoFundMe, and their privacy notice applies. We never see or store your payment information.
- ip-api.com — we use this service to estimate your country and city from your IP address.
- Search engines — when we publish updates we may notify search engines (e.g. Bing) that a page changed. No personal visitor data is shared.
Data Retention
Visitor analytics records are kept only as long as needed to understand the campaign's performance and are then deleted. We do not keep them indefinitely.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to its processing. To make a request, contact us through our GoFundMe campaign page.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. You can also send a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no common standard for honoring it, we treat all visitors the same and keep collection minimal.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
External Links
Our site links to other websites (such as GoFundMe, RHA, and news sources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
